Brazilian legend, Rivaldo, has ended his career as an active player at 41 years of age.
“With tears in his eyes , I want to thank God , my family and all the support and love I have received over 24 -year career as a professional footballer . My history as a player today has finally come, ” Rivaldo told reporters.
In his long career , the Brazilian has transferred the T-shirts of Barcelona (1997-2002) and Milan (2002-2004 ).
With the Catalans, he won two La Liga titles, a King Cup and UEFA Super Cup. He was player of AC Milan in 2003, when the Rossoneri won the Champions League by beating Juventus in the final.
Rivaldo has represented Brazil during the years 1993-2003 and with his national team, among others, has won the World Cup (2002 ) America’s Cup (1999 ) and the Confederations Cup (1997 ).
In 1999, he won the Golden Ball and was declared the best player of the year by FIFA.
